OK as many of you will know, I’ve managed to acquire a load of the original costumes. Now that I’ve finally got PB working again, I’m going to showcase them in this thread. I’m getting a few of them sympathetically restored as they show signs of wear or have rips in them. But luckily the majority are in excellent condition.
First up is Loxleys costume. Signature green woolen tunic with suede trim, along with shirt that is seen quite a bit in The Prophecy and The Children of Israel. Also surviving is his sword belt and possibles pouch from Swords of Wayland.
Loxleys shirt has a pretty distinctive leather stopper at the base of the front neck opening. Thanks to this still from The Prophecy and another shot showing a worn part on the shoulder, it’s easy to screen match the shirt due to the stitching, the shirt has faded from its original green colour to a light tan, but this was well underway from S1 two S2 filming. Like most of the principals costumes, not many back ups were made. Nowadays they have loads of back ups when filming.
His possibles pouch i nearly missed. I passed on this after I wasn’t sure who it belonged too, or if it was just a generic background costume piece for one of the extras. A week later I was rewatching Swords of Wayland and recognised it as Loxleys. Not sure if it was worn during any of the other episodes, as he does chop and change this accessory quite a bit, sometimes not even using one at all.
I was also looking for his season 2 leather vambraces, but failed to find them. I did find Jasons though, and was surprised to find Michaels name in them. After angling them in the light, I could just make out where the strips of leather and studs used to be. So these were Loxleys and they removed the detailing and darkened them for Huntingdon to wear in Season 3.
