Hi Rootytoot, nice to have you aboard. Always fascinating to see how much ROS influenced people back in the day, and even now as a new generation are introduced to it.

Sorry- smiley faces coming up as question marks, will have to do them old school :-) Ah, that's probably because you're replying via mobile. We do have all sorts of smileys here, but you have to click on the yellow 'reply' button to find them, rather than using 'quick reply'. Here are a couple of my favourites:

Hi All, I'm Andy, I live in the Southwest corner of the UK. I have always enjoyed the Robin Hood story and instantly fell in love with Robin of Sherwood, it has never been bettered. I used to be a keen archer, but haven't strung a bow in many a fine year, always feel the urge to take it up again. I look forward to exploring the leafy glades of Nothings Forgotten.

Hi Andy, and welcome! So pleased you decided to dip your toe in There's going to be an archery contest at the Hooded Man con, so maybe you can have a go. I'd like to try archery properly - when I've tried it with modern bows in a casual way I've done okay, but I've not tried with a longbow.

Thanks for the welcomes, an archery contest at the Hooded Man, how wonderful. I shot recurve bows, I was in awe of those at the club who could master the longbow!

Hi I'm Susannah and I met Lucy at the Hooded Man convention today who gave me a card with this forum on. I have been a fan since it was first on and I was about 6 and wanted to be Marion. Love the episodes, favourite is 'Herne's Son'. First time at the convention but devoted fan and enjoying it so far. Thank you so much to Lucy for taking a photo of me with the crocheted Cromm Cruac, I'll try to post it on the Facebook page.

Hey Susannah Bit bleary eyed atm, need to grab a coffee. If you need to host photos you may need a photobucket account (free to get)
