I thought this story was alright. I liked Bryan Marshall's performance as the titular character.
That said, I was puzzled at Lady Isabella's behaviour. If she was so worried about the Sheriff's influence on her son, why didn't she try to remove Martin from Nottingham before?
Isabella's late husband was a respected knight, and there were provisions to protect widowed noblewomen in Medieval English law, so surely she could have gotten some influential person to help her return Martin to her custody.
An interesting aspect was that Adam Bell was another legendary English outlaw, (the subject of a popular 16th century ballad). Anthony Horowitz worked this legend into his Robin of Sherwood script (as Horowitz had also done with the King Arthur legend).
